Certifications for a more sustainable environment

Sholeo Lodges Los Gigantes has obtained the Biosphere Sustainable certification. And we continue certifying other Sholeo Lodges accommodations: at Sholeo Lodges Maspalomas we have already obtained the Biosphere certification, another proud step in our commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment.

Agenda 2030 is the global action plan adopted by UN member states, which includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to address issues such as poverty, inequality and climate change.

Our Lodges offer free water fountains to refill your bottle and avoid the use of plastics.

Sustainable cleaning:

Each stay at Sholeo Lodges reduces your carbon footprint by up to 1.3 kg of CO₂ per night by saving water, energy and chemicals.

By choosing best practices, you contribute to more sustainable tourism. And if you choose extra cleaning, we’ll donate €1 to the Foresta Foundation to reforest our islands. Less impact, more future.

Reforesting the Canary Islands

       We partner with the Foresta Foundation, dedicated to recovering, maintaining and conserving the forests of the Canary Islands. Sholeo Lodges has 3 initiatives that raise funds for the foundation:

  •  Our Green Friday promotional campaign that we run each November donates 1.5% of total sales to the Foresta Foundation. Don’t miss the next one and you’ll be helping to restore our forests!
  • With each purchase of a water bottle, we donate €1. You save money, we reduce plastic and we all collaborate with the foundation.

Thanks to the Ocean Born Foundation – an international organisation whose aim is to mitigate the damage that mankind causes to the ocean – the new Ocean Beer is produced with minimum environmental impact and all profits go towards mitigating climate change via the oceans.

 

Since beginning in 2003, Fritz Kola uses only glass and has not produced a single plastic bottle since.

To drive a fundamental change in the beverage industry, they’ve also launched the ‘Drink From Glass’ initiative, encouraging people to adopt a sustainable and resource-saving approach to beverage consumption to avoid plastic waste.

    For what purposes will we process your personal data?

    We inform you that your data will be processed in order to manage your reservation, your stay at the hotel and ensure the payment of expenses arising from such stay.

    Your data will be communicated to the Security Forces in compliance with the provisions of the legislation in force, as well as to the travel agencies or operators involved.

    The data will be kept for at least 6 years in compliance with tax, commercial, consumer and traveler’s book-registration regulations.

    What about children’s data?

    We do not process data of children under 14 years of age.     They will only be made to manage your request, if it is one of the means of contact that you have provided us.

    What security measures do we apply?

    You can rest assured: We have adopted an optimal level of protection of the Personal Data we handle, and we have installed all the technical means and measures at our disposal according to the state of technology to prevent the loss, misuse, alteration, unauthorized access and theft of Personal Data.

     

    To which recipients will your data be communicated?

    Your data will not be disclosed to third parties, unless legally required. Specifically, they will be communicated to the State Agency of Tax Administration and to banks and financial institutions for the collection of the service provided or product purchased, as well as to the persons in charge of the processing necessary for the execution of the agreement.

     

    In case of purchase or payment, if you choose any application, web, platform, bank card, or any other online service, your data will be transferred to that platform or will be treated in their environment, always with maximum security.

    When we order it, the web development and maintenance company, web hosting/hosting, will have access to our website. They will have signed a service contract that obliges them to maintain the same level of privacy as we do.

    How long does it take us to respond to the Exercise of Rights?

    It depends on the right, but a maximum of one month from your request, and two months if the issue is very complex and we notify you that we need more time.
