At Sholeo Lodges, we’re swapping Black for Green! We’re joining the Green Friday movement. A call for responsible consumption that we support by helping to preserve the Canary Islands’ forests alongside Fundación Foresta.

What is Green Friday, and what does it involve?
Green Friday started as an alternative to Black Friday, a different way of seeing things, focused on sustainability and using this day to make a positive impact on our environment.
How can you help make a difference?
Your holiday in Tenerife or Gran Canaria can have a positive impact when you book with Sholeo Lodges. By booking on our website with the code GREENFRIDAY, not only will you enjoy discounts from 35% on your stay, but you’ll also be helping to protect Canarian forestland, as we donate 1.5% of the value of every reservation to Fundación Foresta’s projects.

We keep our sandals on for the planet
Living life in sandals isn’t just about enjoying authentic experiences, connecting with local culture and communities, the beach, the mountains, hiking trails and every treasure the Canaries have to offer. It’s about getting to know them so we can value and care for them – making tourism a force for positive change towards a more sustainable world.
And, in addition to the estimated €10,000 we will donate this Green Friday between Sholeo Lodges and MYND Hotels, the 3,200 trees planted during three years of collaboration, 17 tonnes of CO₂ offset, and a 70% reduction in plastic consumption across all our properties – our commitment to sustainability also takes shape through initiatives like:
“Don’t throw in the towel on the planet”
Together with MYND Hotels, we invite guests to reuse their towels to reduce water and energy use, achieving:
- 50,000 unnecessary towel washes avoided per year.
- Savings of an average of 20L per wash — over 1,000,000L of water saved annually.
- €0.20 donated to Fundación Foresta per towel, reaching €10,000 across both brands.
Free filtered water dispensers & refillable bottles
Thanks to installations in all our lodges in Tenerife and Gran Canaria, and those of MYND Hotels in Tenerife and Lanzarote, we have:
- Served 170,000 litres of water.
- Removed more than 400,000 half-litre plastic bottles from circulation.
- Donated €1,185 to Fundación Foresta, €1 per bottle sold.
Conscious cleaning
By giving guests the option to request room cleaning and reducing the use of consumables like toiletries and water, we have reached:
- €10,000 donated to Fundación Foresta thanks to 20,000 sustainable cleanings carried out.
